In this photo, of course, I am not working on the web. Working on the web is what I do so that I can visit great places and eat great food!
I'm a Graphic Designer from way back - lived through (and actively encouraged!) the desktop revolution that overtook the print industry in the late 80's.
When I was lecturing in 1994 a friend told me about this thing called the world wide web and a piece of software called Mosaic. I was entranced, and within hours was planning to teach students to create a simple portfolio using html on a floppy disk - did I deliver the first formal html training in the country? Who knows!
I've seen a lot of revolutions since then, but it's still the web's ability to make connections that touch and involve everyone that really excites me.
Looking forward to a ubiquitous, mobile, location aware future :-)
