This is me (growing a beard), I work on the web.
I work for myself, coding with Ruby on Rails. Not only does this pay the bills, it's also a wonderful framework to work with. It also allows me to associate with the fun Ruby on Rails Oceania crowd - which has helped to make me far more confident, with both my skills using Rails, and myself.
As for geography, generally you will find me in Melbourne, often in the inner northern suburbs (particularly Brunswick and Northcote) - it's my town, and I love it.
The web is great at feeding my passions, on and offline - sometimes creating something unexpected. I'm still surprised by the success of the Nullus Anxietas (which I run). The RailsCamps provide another great example.
One passion, as yet unfilled, is some grand social change - something potentially world-changing (yes, I'm an idealist - how can you tell?). I've not yet figured out how to best do my part in improving society and the planet, but I've no doubt that the internet will play a core part in it.
