I work on the web.

This is me. I work on the web.

I live in Canberra, our nation's capital. It's not the ideal place for a web worker, but it makes for an excellent lifestyle choice. My community are and will always be everywhere.

I run my own small social computing, web strategy and information architecture consultancy, acidlabs. I don't strictly have a job title, although I've always felt Evil Overlord or Grand Vizier would look great on a business card.

I've been around the Internet forever. So long that I remember CGI scripting and when 14.4kbps was fast!

I'm convinced that access to and use of connected technology is the great shift of our time and will continue to do anything I can to be involved. I love being involved in this community for all sorts of reasons - its openness, its preparedness to share, its passion and almost more than anything, the ability for me to connect in meaningful ways with people so geographically and culturally diverse that such a thing would have been impossible just a few short years ago.

I share, I contribute, I get involved.

I'm married and utterly happy. My wife is an HR geek with a deep focus around HR as strategy and best practice (http://www.shiftedhr.com/). My daughter is a connected native. She has not lived in a time when ubiquitous connectivity didn't exist. It's just as important to me that I help, mentor and shepherd her through her formative years as she makes more and more use of the Internet and (inevitably) surpasses me.
