I work on the web.

When I grow up, I want to work on the web.

Many years ago, I wanted to be a biologist, but I bummed off at school, and failed pretty much everything.
Then I wanted to be a programmer, so I studied computers and up took Art class to fill my units up, thought it'd be a bludge.

Who knew I was actually going to be good at art!?
Before I even realised what was happening, I was a 3D animator. I finished school, started working at a local advertising agency directing television commercials for carpet sales - sexy ads at low low prices!
I got stepped on for so many years, dodgy clients, corrupt bosses, cheating business partners - and this was all before I was 20.
I always thought here had to be a release... There had to be something I could learn from all the heartache and financial toil...
That's when the web saved me.

I moved to Sydney, which allowed me to explore things I never experienced, clients gave me the time of day and didn't want logos for $100!
It was clear, this was my path.

After working my arse off for several years the benefits were starting to pay off, I was working for blue chip clients, managed a team of talented folk and had my youth on my side.

I'm so interested in the way the web makes people feel. I sometimes wonder what my life would be like if I was born 20 years earlier? Would I still be an uber geek who laughs at lolcats, loves picking flaws in movies about time travel (god bless the space time continuum) and enjoys long sessions with his laptop?

It's incredible to see how much the internet has effected every aspect of our lives. Our experiences, our communications, our senses, our expectations, ethics, loves, hates, desires, morals... the list goes on...

Every day I try to do more and more, for me, the web is just the beginning.
But every day I ask myself what I'll do with myself if I ever loose my love for the web and technology
.
But thats just my paranoia... until then... I work on the web.
