My friends tend to think I’m heavy. I think “impassioned” is wiser. It was hardly a major step for me to consciously devote my life to social progress. And realizing that it’s far too big a job for any one person to take on alone, I strive to educate others and expand the dialogue with those wiser and more experienced, so I can stay ahead of the curve.
My training and intellectual interests are in the life sciences, media theory, and rhetoric and composition studies. As a scientist-turned-social activist, I often marry logic with emotion; a good approach, I think.
I take special interest in evolution as a concept: social evolution, biological and technological evolution. Other buzzwords in my mind/lexicon: architecture, anatomy, urban decay, organic and synthetic fusion, revolution. Apart from that, I really dig art, music and history (although my college history professor might disagree), and I’m an avid film-goer.
I write for a national civil rights law firm in New York and, as a freelance journalist, my work can be found elsewhere (I syndicate a good amount of that here). In addition, I’m working on the final project for my masters degree at George Mason University; the relaunch of my online publication, Urban Molecule, aims to take scientific discourse to a new level.
All of this aside, I’ve got a pretty good sense of humor ;) You can also find me on Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter. If you’d like to know more, leave me a message at my blog. I look forward to hearing from you!
