I work on the web. Hmmm now let me see.. where should I start. I remember floppy discs and black computer screens. Since, I've gotten two degrees (on my third) and had a major career switch (from Genetics to Writing Professional).
I write for publications on the web, I have a blog, I created and edit an online art zine called Urban Molecule, and have various web projects and resources credited to me, one of which was named 'model program' by the U.S. Department of Education in 2006.
Alright, enough patting on the back. I've gotta get my butt in gear for my masters thesis. I'm seriously delinquent. My topic: computer mediated communication. I have an obsession with the fusion of organic and synthetic. When technology comes into the mix, forget it. Cyborg evolution was my original topic, but now I'm thinking of integrating my art journal to round out the project. Sociology meets writing technology.
I try to limit my web 2.0 presence (just joined Shelfari) - it's hard to keep so many things going at once. Especially when you've got a full time job.
Oh yeah -- I'm currently the online content specialist for Lambda Legal, the oldest and largest national organization committed to achieving full recognition of the civil rights of lesbians, gay men, bisexuals, transgender people and those with HIV through impact litigation, education and public policy work.
So, yeah, I guess I can say I work on the web. Looking forward to reading more about the rest of the bunch!
